AEP Independence Day Parade presented by Sonic Drive-In 
  ColumbusBlue Jackets head coach Scott Arniel will make a special appearance at Red,White & BOOM! on Friday, July 2nd as the AEP Independence DayParade presented by Sonic Drive-In Grand Marshall. Arniel will lead over 80 entries from CentralOhio in the parade, which will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Broad Street at COSIheading east, proceeding north on Front Street. The BlueJackets named Arniel the new head coach of the National Hockey Leaguefranchise, club General Manager Scott Howson announced June 8. Arniel(pronounced ahr-NEEL) agreed to a three-year contract through the 2012-13season and was introduced at a press conference at Nationwide Arena. Arnieljoins the Blue Jackets after spending four seasons as head coach of theAmerican Hockey League’s Manitoba Moose, the top affiliate for the VancouverCanucks. He led the club to a 181-106-33 record (.617) from 2006-10, includingNorth Division titles during the 2006-2007 and 2008-2009 seasons, four playoffappearances and a trip to the 2009 Calder Cub Final. “The Blue Jackets are very proud to partner with Red, White & BOOM!this year in celebration of both our team’s 10th season and the 30th presentationof this wonderful community event,” said Marc Gregory, Blue Jackets VicePresident of Marketing. “Over the last decade, several exciting momentsin our franchise history have been marked during Red, White & BOOM! paradessuch as the unveiling of mascot Stinger as well as the introduction of newplayers, and this year we continue that tradition as our new head coach ScottArniel serves as honorary grand marshal.” Special 10thseason merchandise including shirts, pucks, pins, polo shirts and patches areon sale now at the Fox Sports Ohio Blue Line, official team stores of the BlueJackets, located at Nationwide Arena and The Mall at Tuttle Crossing.
